Especially if you have kids, Halloween night can be pretty chaotic. Everyone is trying to get costumes put together, makeup on, meeting up with friends and excited to have fun. You don’t want your kids to have 100% of their food that night being candy (maybe try to keep it less than 50%?!?!) so a super easy DIY Halloween Dinner is the legendary “Pumpkin Pizza”. No, it does not actually have pumpkin as an ingredient (thankfully). It is easy, festive, fun, and can even add to the evening’s activities. Here are the 2 easiest ways to do it:
DIY Personal Pumpkin Pizzas (the fun way): Let each person build their own pizza. Just set out the ingredients, let people assemble their own version, cook them together and eat. Put them on a cookie sheet and heat them in the oven for a few minutes. Ingredients:
Pita Bread for the Crust: Feel free to shape it as needed
Pizza Sauce: Open a jar of pizza sauce and spread a thin layer on top of the pita
Shredded Cheese: Provide a couple flavors of shredded cheese to spread on the pizza pita and sauce. Multiple colors may add to the fun.
Pepperoni: Place the pepperoni to shape your pumpkin or jack-o'-lantern face
Toppings: Get creative with other toppings such as olives, peppers, meats, etc.
Family Pizza (the easy way): Just go to Papa Murphy’s and buy a Jack-o’-Lantern Pizza. They are great and cheap and easy!
